Miss Hannah Aldrich, Pre K-3 & Pre K-4
Teaching at GBCS Since 2016
Attending Florida Southwestern State College
Ever since I was old enough to help, I have been fully involved in children’s ministries. I have always had a heart for children that they will learn to serve the Lord. It is a blessing to teach my pre-k class as I study nursing at Florida Southwestern.

My name is Melissa Smith. I was raised from an early age by Christian parents. I graduated from Gospel Baptist Christian School in 2006. After working at a daycare in my teen years, I decided to become a teacher. I attended Florida Baptist College in Tampa to receive my Bachelors degree in elementary education. Working with children is a blessing from God, and I wouldn’t change it for the world. I plan to continue teaching for the glory of God in years to come.

I love children! Teaching them is both my passion and my calling, and I get more excited about it every day! I cannot imagine doing anything that would bring me more happiness than teaching. I am really looking forward to another year of teaching at GBCS with the wonderful staff as well as getting to know my students and their families. I know the Lord has great things in store for the upcoming school year, and I am looking forward to it with great expectation.

It is a great privilege to teach my 3rd-4th grade kiddos at GBCS! We enjoy such a loving environment where administration, staff, faculty, parents, and students truly are a family. It means a LOT to know that the folks you’re spending time with have a heart for the Lord and want to accomplish His perfect will. I wouldn’t choose to be anywhere else!

At the age of nine I realized my need for a Savior, and I accepted Jesus Christ into my life. From then on I knew God had created me for a special purpose. He gave me many opportunities since I was young to work with children of all ages. Through these opportunities God has given me a greater desire to help and teach these kids. I know that this is that special purpose God has created me for. We all know that God has created each of us in His image, but yet we are all so different! This goes for learning as well as our lives. All children have different needs when learning. My goal as their teacher is to learn these needs, as well as establish a solution to meeting them. My other goal is to develop a long lasting desire in my students to learn. Not only a desire to learn academically, but also a yearning to learn more about God.
Mrs. Janice Otero, Junior High
Teaching at GBCS Since 2009
College: BA Business Administration, University of Puerto Rico, Arecibo Campus
Romans 12:7 talks about the gift of teaching. I received this gift at the age of fourteen. Since then, my passion has been being a servant for the Lord. For my first six years here, I was a “floater” at GBCS. I am truly blessed and excited about overseeing the junior high class. They are my “other” children.
Mrs. Angie Moon, High School
Teaching at GBCS Since 2001
College: BS El. Ed., Bob Jones University
Graduate School: Bob Jones University & Marshall University
My first two years at GBCS were spent teaching 3rd and 4th grades, then I took a year off from teaching when my daughter was born. Over the next four years, I taught Character First at GBCS, and we added a son to our family. I then returned to GBCS to teach 5th and 6th grades for three years. Now I teach senior high school, coordinate our curriculum, and oversee guidance counseling with our high school students. Although we are a very small school compared to most, we are able to offer an amazing variety of courses, extracurricular activities, spiritual training, and excellent academics. GBCS is truly a work of God’s hand.
